Concert in Upton - review
2005-06-24
Highly Strung performed a varied programme at Upton Village Hall on Friday 24th June.The following review appeared in the Newark Advertiser;
"Such is the growing reputation of this all-female London Conservatoire trained string quartet that the concert was sold out two weeks before it was held
During the first half, villagers sat enthralled as they listened to a performance of Dvorak's American Quartet. After the interval Highly Strung had their audience shouting for more with their intense programme of popular pieces.
The audience kept on applauding at the end, with Highly Strung returning to the platform time and time again.
The evening came to a close with two encores - Penny Lane and I've Got Rhythm."
